Ten years ago and two blocks away, Anthony James Gerard began his stage career at The Arkansas Repertory Theatre. In 2013, Gerard created the drag persona Queen Anthony, and slowly began working singing into her act at local gay bars.
In 2015, she became Sway’s first resident artist, helping turn the drag talent competition ‘Fresh Fish’ into a regional smash hit as its hostess. Later that year, she spearheaded the first production of The Rocky Horror Show at Sway as both the star and director. And one year later, still serving as director but in a new role on stage, she coached fellow resident artist Symone the Ebony Enchantress to a thrilling sold-out run as Dr. Frank-N-Furter.
Her titanic stage presence and outrageous vocal talent will be showcased next in The Studio Theatre's upcoming production of Hedwig and the Angry Inch. Queen is also scheduled to return to hosting duties this September for the upcoming season of #FreshFishLR. This weekend, she's spending #SundayAtSway!
