Rules & Regulations

Rules & Regulations
For Miss Gay USofA Newcomer, contestants must be males. Contestants must be 21 years old by the date of the National Pageant. All contestants should be prepared to present a valid, non-expired, state issued ID at registration. Contestants may not compete until the identification is presented.
Contestants may not have won a state or regional title or been a TOP 12 Nationals Finalist in any USofA Pageants National System or any of the major franchised national pageants*
1.Contestants may not have appeared on a drag based reality TV series.
2.Contestants may not enter Miss Gay USofA Newcomer following the 3rd Anniversary of their first entry to Miss Gay USofA Newcomer.
3.Judging will be on a total point accumulated system. Score sheets will be provided by USofA Pageants. Ties will be broken by the contestant with the higher score in the talent category.
4.Contestants will be judged in the following categories: Personal Interview, Talent, and Evening Gown
5.Talent presentation will be limited to seven (7) minutes. Prop setup and teardown will be limited to five (5) minutes total. Talent presentations will be timed at rehearsals. Presentations over seven (7) minutes will have administrative points deducted.
6.Any type of talent presentation is acceptable except those that cause injury to the audience or any other person, No excessive glitter, fire or water may be used in any talent presentation
7.The use or dispensing of illegal drugs or marijuana will not be tolerated while a contestant is participating in the Official Miss Gay USofA Pageant. Immediate disqualification will result for those who break this rule.
8.Any contestant that is not at the appointed place at the appointed time will lose administrative points.
9.Any contestant, contestants dancer(s), helper(s), etc. who is caught in the act of stealing or tampering with another person's property will be disqualified and removed from the location of the Pageant.
10.The Official Miss Gay USofA Pageant does not discriminate against entertainers with silicone and/or hormones. The use of silicone and/or hormones will not be considered by any judge scoring the contestants.
11.Once a contestant has placed 1st Runner-up in a Preliminary Pageant they may not compete in another preliminary pageant in the same system. They must go to the national pageant with that placement.
12.Once a person has won a USofA National Title (Mr. or Miss Gay USofA, Mr. or Miss Gay USofA at Large, Mr. or Miss Black USofA, Mister USofA MI or Miss Gay USofA Classic) they may not compete in any USofA Pageant system until the end of their reign.
13.Any contestant that qualifies for Nationals and fails to attend will be barred from competing in, entertaining, judging or attending any USofA Pageants event until they have paid back their promoter and paid a $125 fine to the National Promoter. This suspension shall last at least one year.
14.USofA Pageants reserves the right to make any decision concerning any matter not covered by these Rules and Regulations.
15.Major National Pageants are Miss Gay America, Miss Continental, Miss Continental Plus, Miss Continental Elite, National Entertainer of the Year, MBU Pageant, Miss Black America, and All American Goddess
16.**NOTE: If any contestants have entered the above major national systems and have placed 1st alternate, but DID NOT place top 12 or above at the respective national contest, they can STILL ENTER MISS GAY USofA NEWCOMER.
Example: If a contestant has entered Miss Gay Arkansas America and ranked 1st alt. or below at state, did not place top 12 at nationals, then they ARE eligible to enter USofA Newcomer.
Age has no factor in entry to Miss Gay USofA Newcomer, only the above rules are refelctive of entry requirements. Any questions can be directed to LPace@usofa.org
